New Holiday Tradition for Minneapolis and St. Paul

Metro Transit, the transit operator in the Minneapolis and St. Paul region, and the BNSF Railway  are excited to offer a new holiday tradition on Saturday, December 9, 2017. Take the Northstar commuter train starting at Big Lake, MN station all the way to Union Depot in St. Paul, where everyone will be able to enjoy the outdoor European Christmas Market for two hours of shopping, food and seasonal entertainment for the whole family! Santa’s elves will be making an appearance on the train ride, helping you get into the holiday spirit. Please consider bringing a non-perishable food item to the Bake Sale happening at Union Depot that will benefit Neighborhood House.

Upon arriving at St. Paul Union Depot, passengers can enjoy the festivities on their own pace, including the chance to board the North Pole Express to visit Santa! Return trip leaves promptly at 6:15 p.m. This fantastic and free holiday train experience on Saturday, Dec. 9 is a first-come, first-served event. Please note: In order to provide direct routing to Union Depot and back the Northstar Holiday Train will not stop at Target Field Station.
